Dorsett trial set to begin March 2020

The trial for former Cabinet minister Kenred Dorsett, who is facing four counts of bribery, is set to begin on March 23, 2020.

Supreme Court Justice Carolita Bethel set the date during Dorsett’s status hearing today.

Dorsett is accused of soliciting $120,000 in bribes from contractor Jonathan Ash, who was awarded a contract to work at the landfill. The bribery offenses were allegedly committed between March 1, 2017 and May 9, 2017.

Dorsett, the former minister of the environment and housing, is on $50,000 bail with two sureties.
