PLP sets convention for July

The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) will host its convention July 25-26, PLP Leader Philip Brave Davis said yesterday.

The event will take place at the Melia Nassau Beach resort.

Davis said all positions in the party will be made available during the convention.

When asked if anyone will challenge him for the position of leader of the party, Davis said, “I will not know that until the day that my post is declared vacant.”

The PLP was originally scheduled to host the convention November 14-16, 2018.

However, in October, Davis announced that it had been postponed to May.

Earlier this year, PLP Chairman Fred Mitchell said that the convention had been postponed once again.

In October 2017, the party held a convention in the wake of its crushing defeat in the May 2017 general election.

Davis was elected party leader at the convention.
