Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis will deliver his third national address for 2019 tonight, the government announced yesterday.
The address will be broadcast on television and is the third in a series of reports that will provide updates and information to the people of The Bahamas on a range of national issues, a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister said.
The report will focus on the environment, land reform, general infrastructure and digital transformation and modernization, according to the statement.
“The report will highlight major reform efforts underway to digitize and modernize government services and the implementation of a system to clear the land application backlog and restructure the application process for Crown land,” the statement said.
“An overview of the extensive ongoing roadworks program throughout New Providence and The Bahamas, major capital works projects, progress on the New Providence Landfill and environmental conservation initiatives will also be highlighted.
“The report to the nation series is part of the government’s commitment and responsibility to provide timely, accurate, clear and complete information about its programs, services and initiatives to citizens and residents of The Bahamas.”
In his first national address in January, Minnis focused on what the government was doing to boost economic growth, help create jobs and provide greater opportunities for Bahamians.
The second national address in March centered around the government’s vision and plans for social development, including education, safety and security and culture.
