Shooting, stabbing on Grand Bahama

Police are investigating separate stabbing and shooting incidents that took place on Grand Bahama over the weekend.

According to police, a 16-year-old resident of Take Me Corner, Eight Mile Rock, is in custody after he was arrested for stabbing another man.

Police said that shortly after 11 p.m. on Friday, officers who were on patrol in the Pinedale area discovered a male with stab wounds near a business establishment.

Emergency Medical Services came to the scene, and the victim was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital where he is listed in serious, but stable condition, police said.

According to police, shortly after 1 p.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a call to Andros Drive, Hawksbill, where a shooting had been reported.

Police said a man who was sitting in his vehicle was shot in his chest by a man driving a light colored vehicle.

The victim said he knew the shooter.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and the victim was taken to the Rand Memorial Hospital where police said he is listed in serious but stable condition.
