Bahamas Power and Light’s (BPL) facility in Bimini was impacted by a fire that severely damaged the facility last night.
BPL officials from New Providence are traveling to Bimini today to conduct an assessment, according to a BPL statement.
BPL said power has already been restored to some areas. It is unclear when there will be full restoration.
“We will provide more information as it becomes available,” the statement added.
