Bahamas Roadmasters set for 4th Annual Midnight Madness
Bahamas Roadmasters, the premier marathon running club in the country, is gearing up for the 4th Annual Midnight Madness event.
The popular undertaking, a 10 kilometer (K) fun run/walk, is set for the Labour Day holiday, Friday, June 7, starting and ending at Arawak Cay. The event, which is sponsored by J.S. Johnson Insurance Co. in recognition of its 100th anniversary celebration, will get underway at 12 midnight on Friday June 7.
From Arawak Cay, it will proceed west to the second roundabout at the Baha Mar Resort, and then turn around and head back east to the finish line at Arawak Cay.
Part proceeds from the event will be in aid of the “St. Anselm’s Breakfast for School Children” project.
Registration can be done in person at Four Seasons Nursery on Infant View Road (telephone number 242-804-8595), at J.S. Johnson’s main office in Centreville (telephone number 242-397-2100) or at Palmdale Vision Centre in Centreville (telephone number 242-325-3585), at a cost of $20 per registrant.
“We anticipate a bigger and better event this year because of the partnership we’ve forged with J.S. Johnson as they celebrate their 100th anniversary. Thank you, J.S. Johnson,” said club President Marcel Major. “We encourage the public to show their support and sign up to experience this unique, fun and exciting midnight fun run – the only one of its kind in the country. We continue to be community-minded as well, as we give back to charitable organizations. This year, the St Anselm’s Breakfast for School Children will be the recipient of part proceeds from funds derived from our fun run, so we invite the general public to show their support and sign up in person at the various sign up locations.”
There will be a free T-shirt for the first 200 registrants, and the participants are asked to wear bright colors and safety lights.
For more information on the event, interested persons are asked to contact the Bahamas Roadmasters Club at e-mail address [email protected] or at telephone numbers (242) 676-2182 or (242) 804-8595.
