Man busted with cocaine at LPIA
Police said a man was taken into custody at Lynden Pindling International Airport on Tuesday after he was found in possession of 10 pounds of suspected cocaine.
Police said shortly after 2 p.m. Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers saw a man in the Customs Hall who began acting suspiciously after seeing them.
Officers said they searched the man’s bag and recovered a package which contained suspected cocaine.
Police said they believe the man, a Bahamian, arrived from Suriname through Jamaica via Caribbean Airlines.
He was taken into custody and is expected to be formally charged this week, according to police who said the drugs are valued at $67,000.
