Child hit by vehicle

A child was in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle on Eleuthera on Friday, police said.

According to police, shortly after 5 p.m., a resident of Green Castle arrived at home with a male child.

Police said the man secured the vehicle he arrived home in, leaving the child inside it. He then got into another vehicle, and began to reverse, when he heard the child screaming.

When he got out of the vehicle, he saw the child behind it, bleeding from an injury to his head.

Police said the child was taken to the Rock Sound Community Clinic and later transported to a hospital on New Providence, where he was listed in critical condition.
