Construction of GoldWynn superstructure to begin

New phase will employ 100 Bahamians

Wynn Development Ltd. revealed yesterday that it has retained the services of High-Rise Concrete Construction Ltd. (HCC) to build the superstructure at its Cable Beach development GoldWynn, a press release from the company said yesterday, adding that this new phase will employ 100 Bahamians.

The company has completed the initial phase of works at the site, located across from the Office of the Prime Minister; 35 percent of its units are already sold.

According to the release, HCC is a “Bahamian-owned structural concrete formwork contractor bringing years of multi-story concrete and structural expertise throughout The Bahamas”.

The release explains that the company has worked on projects such as the Water and Sewerage Corporation’s treatment plant building, Bahamas Power and Light’s station A renovations at Clifton Pier, and structural concrete work on Royal Caribbean International’s Coco Cay.

“Designed by Makow Associates Architects with interiors by HOK, this elegantly designed contemporary structure is set to commence vertical construction within the month,” the release states.

“During the initial phase, the project is expected to employ at least 100 Bahamians and those numbers are expected to increase significantly as construction progresses into the finishing stages.”

GoldWynn will be a multi-level, beachfront residential and condo hotel that will feature a double infinity pool, elegant seaside dining, theater, covered parkade, fitness center, medispa, multi-purpose room and a rooftop pool.

According to the release, the project’s sales program was successful and it is expected that as the project comes out of the ground, unit sales should accelerate.

“This momentum is expected to accelerate once vertical construction is underway,” the release notes.
