Man charged with fatal drive-by shooting

Police have charged a 27-year-old man with a fatal drive-by shooting that was caught on camera.

Prosecutors say Jeffrey Hepburn, of Blue Hill Road, while acting with others, murdered Bradley Smith Jr. on June 12.

Smith was sitting in front of a shop on Dunmore Avenue when the occupants of a silver Honda Fit pulled up and opened fire.

Hepburn was not required to enter a plea to the charge when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

He was also accused of robbing a woman of a silver Honda Fit on June 4.

Hepburn was denied bail on the murder and armed robbery charges.

He next returns to court on July 17 when it is expected that the cases will be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court for trial.
