2019 BFFL regular season comes to a close

The 2019 Bahamas Flag Football League (BFFL) regular season came to a close last weekend with the first game being the Bamboo Shack Lady Falcons against the Sports Centre/Bahamas Rugby Ruggers at the fields next to the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium.

The Sports Centre/Bahamas Rugby Ruggers scored a pick six the week prior before the game got rained out. They were able to hold on to that lead and shut the Bamboo Shack Lady Falcons out.

Next up was the Paradise Games Wildcats against the Aeronautic Imports Lady Avengers in the upset game of the day. The Wildcats, always dominant, seemed to be struggling.  The Avengers were also struggling but they kicked a field goal as their defense was able to hold on.

They stripped away the dream of an undefeated season from the Wildcats.

The third game saw the Splice & Connect Lady Cheetahs facing off against the Island Games Lady Spartans. As predicted, the Lady Spartans blew out the  Lady Cheetahs.

“Upset Sunday” continued as the Commonwealth Bank Lions took on the Avengers, with the Avengers being favored to win.

However, the Lions had other plans. They won that game.

In the final game of the day, the Centreville Caribbean Liquors Hawks played the Playground Marlins. The Hawks were poised to clinch the second seed with this win, so they did.

The quarterfinal round begins this Sunday, June 30. The first game begins at 1.10 p.m with the Avengers playing the Lady Spartans.

The Fidelity Rams play the Lions at 2.20 p.m. The Marlins and the Ruggers will play at 3.30 p.m.

The Spartans and the Coca-Cola Hitmen will face off against each other in the final game of the day at 4.40 p.m.
