One of the country’s “most wanted men” was yesterday charged with the 2017 murder of a former marine and the attempted murder of another man.
Tico Omar Lightbourne, 33, of McCartney Lane, appeared before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans charged with the March 25, 2017 murder of John Hutchison and the attempted murder of Jason Satchell.
Lightbourne was arrested in Haiti last year and recently extradited to The Bahamas to face the charges.
Hutchinson was fatally shot at a bar in Quintine Alley and Satchell was seriously injured in the same incident.
Lightbourne, who was not represented, was not required to enter pleas to the charges.
He returns to court on September 26 when it is expected that his case will be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court for trial.
