Cigar salesman fined
A man arrested for peddling cigars downtown was fined $300 yesterday after he admitted breaching the Business License Act.
Jeffrey Duvalier, 30, pleaded guilty to offering the smokes for sale on June 28 without having a business license when he appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney.
In court, Duvalier claimed that he was arrested with the cigars on his way to his uncle’s store.
According to Duvalier, the uncle held a license.
However, he later admitted he was walking downtown with the cigars in a plastic bag looking for sales.
