FIDE Trainers Seminar set for the end of the month

The Bahamas Chess Federation (BCF) in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture is staging the FIDE (World Chess Federation) Trainers Seminar at the end of the month.

The event is set for July 27-29, at Centreville Medical Centre. Registration is open for the event, and can be done online at the website

FIDE Trainer and President of the Brazillian Chess Federation Darcy Lima will be administering the course. The event is sponsored by the Mednet Group of Companies.

Interested persons are being encouraged to register early and not miss out on what is expected to be an informative course.

Certified trainers can travel as head coaches to several international chess competitions.

Also, the Chess in Education – School Chess Teacher Course is scheduled for August 9-11, and the Bahamas Chess Federation’s summer camp is ongoing. A total of 34 youngsters are registered with the camp.
