Alyssa Civil is Albania Christian Academy’s most outstanding graduate
Alyssa Civil, five, was named the most outstanding graduate as Albania Christian Academy hosted its recent graduation service, during which school founder Dr. Albert Ferguson said today’s preschoolers have a mindset that differs drastically from that of those of decades past, as many of them must process and respond to home environments that are complicated and stress-laden.
Civil was among three students who graduated on the principal’s honor roll.
She received an iPad from Dr. Joyous Pickstock, of Faith Dental Centre.
The dentist also presented a laptop to the school to further strengthen their educational program, as well as a financial gift to help improve their educational resources.
“Social and cultural values as well as the whole climate of today’s Bahamian society has drastically changed and continues to evolve, and so today’s preschoolers have a mindset that differs as drastically from 25 years ago as day is from night,” said Ferguson, whose comments came as the preschool celebrated its 25th anniversary.
“Every child who survives and is actually born, needs the services of professional and dedicated Christian early educators who have integrity and, most of all, needs quality, Christian early education.”
