Ex cop to stand trial on teen rape charge
A man accused of the rape of a minor while a serving member of the Royal Bahamas Police Force was yesterday committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court.
Former constable Patrick Taylor, of Godet Avenue, off Carmichael Road, received the prosecution’s case against him when he appeared before Magistrate Samuel McKinney.
Taylor, who is on bail, told the court that he would provide particulars of his alibi to the Office of the Attorney General in 21 days.
Prosecutors say that between February 1 and March 21 Taylor had unlawful sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old.
Taylor will be arraigned before Justice Bernard Turner on August 2.
