Man shot to death in Grand Bahama

A man died after being shot shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday in the West Atlantic Drive area of Grand Bahama, according to police.

Police said they found the victim lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to his abdomen and back.

The man, who was still alive at the time, told police that he was approached by two men who shot him before fleeing on foot.

He was transported to hospital where he died.

The latest killing marks the fifth murder in the country’s second most populated island so far for the year, and the 48th murder in The Bahamas so far for the year.

There were six murders recorded in Grand Bahama in 2018.

Police said they are “aggressively investigating” the matter and are appealing to the public for information.
