No proof of any vicitimization
I write in response to the unfortunate leak into the public domain of a letter that was intended for limited private circulation concerning the end of my tenure as editorial cartoonist for The Nassau Guardian.
First of all, let me state that I have no proof of any victimization as alleged.
I was invited years ago by Emanuel Alexiou to be The Guardian’s cartoonist. We shook hands on it.
During these many years at The Guardian, never once did ANYONE try to influence or censor my drawings for political or other reasons.
I was given complete freedom, the only restriction being libel.
So, I have enjoyed what I hope has been a mutually beneficial relationship over these many years.
I will end Sideburns at The Guardian on July 31, 2019, shaking the hand of Emanuel Alexiou, thanking him for the great opportunity he and Anthony Ferguson gave me to hold this glorious platform for so long.
I have many friends at The Guardian, and I thank them for all their support over the years.
Finally, I want to thank the many fans, and haters (smile) of Sideburns, who have all kept me on my toes. I will miss you all.
Peace Light and Love,
