Man, 25, accused of stealing almost $45k from woman’s account

A 25-year-old man accused of stealing almost $45,000 from a woman’s bank account was yesterday denied bail.

Andre Spence Jr., of Sandpiper Drive, Freeport, denied six counts of stealing at his arraignment before Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans yesterday.

Prosecutors allege that Spence stole $44,500 between June 19 and July 4 by compromising the online accounts of a customer of Scotiabank and Commonwealth Bank.

Spence also denied conspiring with Samuel Kemp, 27, of Davis Street, Fox Hill, to commit stealing.

Kemp was previously charged. Both men will be tried on October 1.
