Child porn case delayed

A child pornography case was yesterday adjourned at the request of the defense.

Sharran Burrows, 43, of Pinewood Gardens, faces 12 counts of possession of child pornography at his trial before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

Prosecutors say that Burrows had lewd images of a female under the age of 18, or depicted as being under 18, performing sexual acts between April 2015 and April 2017. The images were allegedly found on his cell phone.

Burrows’ lawyer Lennox Coleby is off the island and requested a new trial date.

No evidence has been taken in the case that dates back to June 2017.

Most of those adjournments were at the request of Coleby, who at one point was in plea discussions with the prosecution.

To date, no witnesses have been called.
