Airlines should consider relaxing cargo fees

Dear Editor,

I have heard reports of boxes and other supplies being sent to hurricane victims in Grand Bahama via the mail boat, not reaching the persons for whom they were intended.

Sending heavy, bulky items by air cargo is faster, but much more expensive.

It would be wonderful if airlines flying into Grand Bahama or Abaco would, for the time being, consider relaxing cargo fees for boxes and supplies (water, etc.) being sent to those destinations.

This would go a long way towards making life a little bit easier for persons on those islands needing items family and friends may want to send.
