Miranda Tucker shines in the local 2019 Neutrogena DCP Championships

New Providence are champs!

Miranda Tucker, a St. Augustine’s College student, came out with the top score of 121 points in the recently concluded Neutrogena Drive, Chip & Putt Championships (DCP) held at the BGF Golf Facility on Baillou Hill Road Sports Complex on Saturday, October 19, 2019.

The event was hosted by the Fourteen Clubs Golf Academy in conjunction with Neutrogena, Aquapure and with the support of the Bahamas Golf Federation (BGF) and Junior Golfers Parent Body. The event was the first of its kind here. It included golfers from age four to 50-plus in 11 categories.

Jalene Bowleg, who amassed 78 points, won the boys and girls age four to nine category. In the boys and girls age 10-11 category, Michael Knowles won with 104 points and was second overall in total points accumulated.

Alexander Knowles won the boys 12-13 age category while Alex Dupuch won the 14-15 age category. The boys 16-18 age category top prize was carted off by Clinton Bowleg. In the girls 12-13 age category, Elyse Hanna was the winner. In the 14-15 age category, Tyesha Tynes came away as the winner. Miranda Tucker was the winner in the 16-18 age category.

In the men’s category, Aharon Bastian and Jim Laroda won with 95 and 50 points respectively. Rosena Pratt was victorious in the women’s category with her 75 points total.

Rian Sands, Consumer Brands Manager at Lowe’s Wholesale commented that Neutrogena was proud to sponsor the Drive-Chip-Putt Championship held by the Fourteen Clubs Golf Academy and BGF. She noted that the event was a success as the brand was able to give both golfers and spectators an experience geared toward raising the awareness of Neutrogena’s Sun Care line. Sun Care items and promotional materials were dispersed throughout the four-hour event by the Neutrogena team.

We thank Coach Georgette Rolle and the team for the partnership with the growing sport of golf in The Bahamas, and to all of the golfers a special congratulations on another completed championship event.
