BSAA volleyball playoffs get underway today
Four games were on tap in the Bahamas Scholastic Athletic Association (BSAA) regular season on Tuesday afternoon at the Tom “The Bird” Grant Park in Yellow Elder Gardens.
In the first game, Genesis Academy needed three sets to take down Teleos Christian School in the primary school division. They won the first set 17-9. Teleos rallied back in the second set to win 17-4. Genesis battled in the third set to win 15-11.
In the junior girls division, Genesis Academy was once again victorious. The team defeated Mt. Carmel Preparatory Academy 19-15 in the first set before falling to them 3-19 in the second set. The third set was won 17-15.
Teleos Academy did not need a third set to take down Mt. Carmel. They won in two straight sets 25-20 and 25-14.
In the final game, San Pedro International School senior boys won 25-18 and 25-22 over Mt. Carmel Academy.
Playoffs will begin today with Genesis Academy playing Teleos in junior girls action. Following that game will be San Pedro against Genesis in senior boys matchup. The final game will see Akhepran International Academy senior boys playing Mt. Carmel.
Playoffs will continue tomorrow and on Monday.
