Prosecutors want witness to testify out of court
Prosecutors want a court to allow a witness to a 2013 shooting that left four dead and nine others injured to give his evidence via video link.
Rodger Thompson made the application yesterday during a pretrial review of the case against Peter Rolle, Justin Williams and Jermaine Curry.
The trial judge, Justice Deborah Frazier, will hear the application on November 13, before jury selection takes place.
Thompson said the Department of Public Prosecutions had recently received information that made the application necessary.
The suspects are accused of the December 27, 2013 murders of Shaquille Demeritte, Claudezino Davis, Shenique Sands and Eric Morrison and the attempted murders of Samuel Ferguson, Leroy Taylor, Janet Davis, Chino Davis, Jermaine Pratt, John Davis and Benjamin Demeritte.
The victims were at Freedom Park in Fox Hill waiting for the results of the Boxing Day Junkanoo Parade when the occupants of a gray car opened fire on the crowd.
The accused are on bail as the case has failed to start on multiple occasions. The matter was first set for trial in September 2016.
