Man in Marco Archer case gets appeal date
Kofhe Goodman will have another chance to overturn his conviction for the murder of Marco Archer, who was killed eight years ago.
The Court of Appeal set a March 16 date for the hearing yesterday.
Goodman will be represented by Stanley Rolle of the Public Defenders Office. Cordell Frazier appears for the director of public prosecutions.
Goodman, who is also known as Edwardo Ferguson, was sentenced to 55 years’ imprisonment in 2018 for the murder.
Marco was kidnapped and murdered in September 2011.
Police found the 11-year-old’s naked body dumped in bushes near Goodman’s home, a week after he vanished while running an errand for his mother.
Goodman has been convicted of Archer’s murder twice.
The Court of Appeal in 2016, quashed his death sentence and conviction after finding that pre-trial publicity and the conduct of his attorney made his trial unfair.
