South Beach Swimming Pools Complex reopens

Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Lanisha Rolle reopened the refurbished South Beach Swimming Pools Complex at an official ceremony on November 25.

Minister of Education and South Beach Member of Parliament Jeffrey Lloyd joined her in bringing remarks and unveiling a commemorative plaque.

Among those present were senators Jennifer Isaacs-Dotson and Jamal Moss; Permanent Secretary David Cates; under secretaries Montez Williams and Renee Bullard; Executive Director of Culture

Rowena Poitier-Sutherland; Director of Sports Timothy Munnings; Head of the Youth Division Sandena Neely; Captain Philip Clarke, principal officer, Office of the Commander of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force; and swimming organization representatives and stakeholders.

During the ceremony there were musical selections from students of Cleveland Eneas Primary and Anatol Rodgers High, soloists from the R. M. Bailey High School and the Royal Bahamas Police Force Pop Band; and pool demonstrations by the Queen’s College water polo team and Bahamas Aquatics.
