Opening statements in Fox Hill mass murder trial to begin tomorrow
Opening statements will begin Wednesday morning in the trial of three men accused of a mass shooting that killed four people and wounded eight others.
Yesterday, prosecutors and defense attorneys chose 12 jurors and three alternates to hear the trial against Peter Rolle, Justin Williams, and Jermaine Curry.
Justice Deborah Fraser is presiding over the case, which is expected to last four weeks.
Rolle, Williams and Curry are accused of firing indiscriminately into a crowd that had gathered at the Fox Hill Park on December 27, 2013, to hear Junkanoo results.
The incident claimed the lives of Claudezino Davis, Shaquille Demeritte, Eric Morrison and Shenique Sands. Chino Davis, Janet Davis, John Davis, Benjamin Demeritte, Samuel Ferguson, Jermaine Pratt and Leroy Taylor were injured in the shooting.
The defendants, who are on bail, face four counts of murder and eight counts of attempted murder.
Murrio Ducille, Sonia Timothy and Geoffrey Farquharson make up the defense team. Rodger Thompson and Zoe Gibson are prosecuting.
