Charges dropped against housekeeper accused of stealing $12k
A 51-year-old Filipina housekeeper was given a second chance by her former boss.
Ike Hemmings told Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain that he no longer wanted to prosecute Glenda Sagucio for stealing $12,000 from him during November 2019.
Hemmings said Sagucio, who worked for him for three years, had already lost her job and reputation.
Swain dismissed the charges against Sagucio but instructed the prosecutor to notify immigration so they could cancel her work permit and see her out of the country.
Hemmings said that he was contractually responsible for paying for Sagucio’s return ticket as per the terms of his contract.
