Two men accused of molesting teen girls
A man has been accused of multiple sexual offenses involving a minor.
Robert Johnson, 31, of Stapledon Gardens, was denied bail yesterday after he was charged with two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and indecent assault.
The charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred between September 2018 and March 2019 and involve a 14-year-old girl.
Johnson was not required to enter a plea to the charges when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.
He must apply for bail in the Supreme Court because the magistrate lacks jurisdiction to consider bail for the offenses.
Johnson returns to court on March 3. At that time, he’s expected to be served with a voluntary bill of indictment.
Another man accused of molesting a minor was also denied bail yesterday.
Tavarous Munroe, 26, of Old Cedar Street, faced a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse when he appeared before Ferguson-Pratt.
The incident allegedly took place with a 15-year-old girl in September 2019.
Munroe was also denied bail and was not required to enter a plea to the charge.
He’s been denied bail and must apply for pretrial release in the Supreme Court.
He also returns to court on March 3.
