Andros murder suspect charged

Police on Tuesday charged a suspect with the April 1 murder of Calvin Harrison-Rolle.

Prosecutors allege that Clinton Forbes fatally shot Harrison-Rolle near a park in Mars Bay, Andros.

Forbes was not required to enter a plea to the murder charge when he appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes on Tuesday.

Prosecutors plan to fast-track the case to the Supreme Court for trial by a voluntary bill of indictment, which will be presented on July 2.

In the interim, the suspect will be remanded to the Bahamas Department of Corrections.

Ian Cargill represents the accused.
