14 new COVID deaths confirmed

While the Ministry of Health and Wellness initially confirmed an additional 24 COVID deaths today, it later said ten of those deaths are still under investigation.

Of the confirmed deaths, all 14 occurred between October 2 and October 8. 

The victims ranged in age from 26 to 91. 

Eight of the victims were men and six were women.

Nine of the victims were from New Providence, two from Long Island, two from Inagua and one from Grand Bahama.

The latest deaths bring the confirmed toll in The Bahamas to 622. An additional 123 people have also been confirmed to have died with COVID, but not because of it. 

Additionally, there now are 63 deaths under investigation.

The Bahamas confirmed 64 new COVID-19 cases yesterday and 47 the day before.

Up to Thursday, 127 cases were hospitalized.
