The Bahamas recorded an additional 44 cases of COVID-19 yesterday, according to the Ministry of Health.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 989.
Of the new cases, there were 26 on New Providence, 10 on Grand Bahama, two on Abaco, one on Inagua and five that were still pending.
Health officials did not provide the age or sex of any of the new cases.
New Providence now leads the country with 446 cases, followed by Grand Bahama with 438 cases.
Bimini has 45 cases; Abaco, 30; the Berry Islands, 12; Exuma, four; Cat Island, three; Eleuthera, one; Inagua, one; and the location of nine cases are listed as pending.
According to the Ministry of Health COVID-19 dashboard, three more people recovered, bringing the total to 116. Hospitalizations decreased from 31 to 30.
Fifteen people have died, and there are 856 active cases.
As of last night, 6,938 tests were completed, according to health officials. These include tests conducted by private facilities.
