With events being cancelled left and right, one of the largest spring break celebrations this side of the Caribbean, Sensation Spring Break beach party at the Atlantis Resort, as of yesterday, was still on schedule with no suspected or confirmed cases of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in The Bahamas.
The party which features deejays Chase B today, and Brandi Cyrus on Saturday, March 14, is being held at the Paradise Island resort.
The first annual Sensation Spring Break beach party is expected to host thousands of spring breakers, not to mention those “young at heart” adults who simply need a moment to relax and unwind.
With two days of fun remaining in the four-day event, organizers say it’s not too late, as tickets are still on sale and the resort is offering special rates and packages for their sensational beach party celebration.
Atlantis collaborated with SKAM Artist and Heineken to execute Sensation Spring Break. The event features a stage on the sand in a designated private area of West Beach at Atlantis, with daytime beach parties, an open bar and performances by four of the world’s hottest deejays – some of whom will also make appearances later in the evening at the popular Aura nightclub.
“Sensation was created with the purpose of utilizing music and art to inspire individuals,” said Michael MacDonnell, Atlantis’ vice president of food and beverage.
“In addition to the music, individuals can experience colorful expressions of attire, paint and henna artists and the overall ‘sensation’ of being in the epicenter of the world’s most pristine waters and powder white beaches.
“Our stage will be 36 feet wide by 24 feet deep with headliners playing their part of an unforgettable experience. Our goal is ultimately providing a platform for our guests to immerse themselves as we continually reinvent ourselves year after year.”
MacDonnell said the best feedback that Atlantis aims to attain from this event is that everybody has an incredible experience.
“Secondly and equally important to us is that everybody is safe while they experience Sensation,” said MacDonnell. “We will have plenty security on the premises of Sensation and we will certainly be controlling the crowds in a safe and controlled environment.”
He said what remains of Sensation Spring Break will be “exhilarating”.
“There is no age limitation on this event,” said MacDonnell. “This can be exhilarating for a 40-year-old and an 18-year-old. Equally, it’s all about the fun and we are putting this together for everyone to enjoy.”
