The Bahamas Football Association (BFA) is proud to announce that two referees have been accepted to the 2019 FIFA Referees Committee, to the 2019 international lists. The two referees are Wilson DaCosta and Krystal Delancey.
These selections follow a rigorous program which includes fitness testing, medical examination and evaluation and knowledge of the laws of the game. It also includes the evaluation of performances in local and international matches during the previous 12 months prior to being nominated as well as meeting age requirements.
In addition to his referee duties, DaCosta also heads the growing Referee Academy in The Bahamas which is charged with recruiting, educating and growing the base of young referees in the country. The Bahamas model is now being copied in the USA as well in the Caribbean.
Delancey is a physical education specialist with the Ministry of Education and is a coach at Sir Gerald Cash Primary School.
