BAMSI workers charged with armed robbery

Two BAMSI workers were yesterday charged with an armed robbery in Andros.

Shaquiel Munnings, 25, and Marachell Coleby, 18, both of Buzzard Bay, South Mastic Point, Andros, appeared before Magistrate Ambrose Armbrister charged with the armed robbery of gas station owner David Romer.

Prosecutors allege that the men robbed Romer of a deposit bag containing cash and checks totaling $8,000, and jewelry worth $1,700.

The men are also accused of receiving the deposit bag, cash and checks.

The men, who were represented by attorney Lennox Coleby, were not required to enter pleas to the charges.

They have been remanded to prison and next return to court on February 27 when it is expected that the matter will be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court.
