The body of a man was discovered in a vehicle at the western parking lot at Goodman’s Bay on Tuesday morning, police said.
Assistant Superintendent Audley Peters said the man’s body was crouched on the passenger seat.
“An examination of the body was conducted,” Peters said on the scene. “There were no injuries found to the body.”
Prison Commissioner Charles Murphy visited the scene shortly after police removed the body from the vehicle.
“There is information in this vehicle that suggests there is a possibility that this individual may be a prison officer,” Peters said when asked why Murphy visited the scene.
“That’s why his presence was here this morning to confirm, but we’re not confirming or denying whether that individual is a [prison] officer.”
Police have labeled the incident a sudden death.
