BPL: Cable fault caused outages

Bahamas Power and Light (BPL) said yesterday that a cable fault caused power outages in portions of central, northern and western New Providence.

In a statement, BPL said the fault occurred at 2:47 p.m. and affected residents in the Albany, Paradise Island, Gladstone Road, the Grove West, Cable Beach, East Hill, Collins Avenue, Bain and Grants Town and Big Pond areas.

“Generation has been restored to more than 50 percent of the affected consumers,” the statement said.

“BPL sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused and thanks our valued customers for their patience.”
