BSAA volleyball season continues on Tom ‘The Bird’ Grant Park

The Bahamas Scholastic Athletic Association (BSAA) continued with its regular season in volleyball this week with a number of games at the Tom “The Bird” Grant Park in Yellow Elder Gardens.

On Tuesday, three games were all decided in straight sets. In the Junior Girls Division, the Mt. Carmel Preparatory Academy Cavaliers knocked off Genesis Academy, 19-14 and 19-6. In the Senior Girls Division, Mt. Carmel once again came out on top, this time defeating Akhepran International Academy, 25-20 and 25-14. Finally, in the Senior Boys Division, San Pedro International School outlasted Akhepran International Academy, 27-25 and 28-26.

A couple of games were played on Monday. In the Primary Division, Teleos Christian School defeated Genesis Academy in straight sets, 19-15 and 19-16; and in the Senior Girls Division, Akhepran International Academy held off San Pedro International School in three sets, 26-24, 16-25 and 15-13.

The results of Wednesday’s games were unavailable up to press time. There were two senior boys games as Genesis Academy took on Akhepran International Academy and Teleos Christian School challenged Mt. Carmel.

A total of three games are set for Thursday, and there will be two more on Friday. Genesis Academy will take on Teleos Christian in both the junior girls and senior boys divisions on Thursday; in the Senior Girls Division, Teleos will battle San Pedro International School. On Friday, Teleos will go up against Akhepran International Academy in the Senior Girls Division; and in the Senior Boys Division, San Pedro International School will take on Genesis Academy.

Also, the BSAA will be hosting its annual cross country championships on Saturday November 9, starting at 10 a.m. at Goodman’s Bay.
