Over the past three weeks, 100-plus youths have been playing in season four of the Bahamas Youth Flag Football League (BYFFL) at the old Thomas A. Robinson Stadium on Saturdays.
The league is experiencing its best season to date. Thus far, the games have been exciting and very competitive in all the age categories.
This week’s opening game will see Blue go up against Yellow in the 10-13 years age group. That game gets underway at 1 p.m.
That game will be followed by Blue against Orange in the 6-9 years age group that gets underway at 1:40 p.m.
The 10-13 years age group will play after that game. It will be Maroon playing Blue at 2:20 pm.
In the older age division, 14-17 years, Orange takes on Yellow at 3 p.m.
In the third and final game of the 10-13 years age division, Orange battles Green at 3:40 p.m.
The final game of the day will see Blue play Yellow in the 14-17 age division at 4:20 p.m.
Week three games saw the Blue and Orange game tied at 12-12 in the 6-9 age division.
There were three games on tap in the 10-13 age division. Maroon defeated Green 14-12 in their matchup. Yellow blanked Green 12-0 and Orange blanked Yellow 15-0.
Two games were on tap in the 14-17 age division. Blue took care of Orange 21-6 and Orange edged out Yellow 13-12.
Games are played on the exterior fields of the old TAR Stadium.
