A corrections officer accused of defrauding the government of more than $2,000 in a sick slip scam was yesterday remanded to prison.
Alexander Burrows, 26, of Pride Estates, pleaded not guilty to three counts of fraud by false pretenses at his arraignment before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes.
Prosecutors allege that Burrows was fraudulently paid $2,168.25 in 2017 through the alleged scam.
Burrows is represented by Tonique Lewis and he returns to court for trial on May 5.
Burrows has to apply for bail in the Supreme Court.
