The total number of COVID-19 deaths yesterday climbed to 86 following six additional deaths, the Ministry of Health said.
According to health officials, a 50-year-old man from New Providence died yesterday from the virus. An additional five deaths, which were previously under investigation, were confirmed to be due to COVID-19.
The five deaths include three people from Grand Bahama – a 73-year-old man and a 54-year-old man, who both died on September 20; and a 50-year-old woman who died on September 19.
It also includes two people from New Providence – a 64-year-old woman, who died on September 20, and a 46-year-old man, who died on September 14.
Health officials also reported 81 new cases of the novel coronavirus.
There were 75 cases reported on New Providence, four on Grand Bahama and two on Abaco.
There are now 3,699 cases of COVID-19 in The Bahamas.
There are 1,962 recovered cases; 1,626 active cases; and 90 hospitalizations.
As of yesterday, 18,604 tests were completed.
