Double murder investigations ‘progressing’
While there have been no arrests in the two double murders that occurred less than 48 hours apart last week, Acting Commissioner of Police Emrick Seymour said yesterday that those investigations are progressing.
“I can tell you that we are making significant leads in both of them, and I am sure that, given the trajectory, pretty soon we should be able to give you some information on that,” Seymour told reporters following the INTERPOL Counter Nuclear Smuggling Workshop training session at the Melia Nassau Beach resort.
“We are, in fact, progressing steadily with those investigations.”
Last week Monday, Ashlee Hilton, 30, and George Neil Deveaux, 33, were gunned down at Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre, after two men emerged from a black SUV, approached their white car and opened fire.
Deveaux was seeking physical therapy for injuries received during a shooting in August and police believe the assailants were waiting on him.
On Wednesday, less than 48 hours later, two men were found shot dead in a vehicle in a driveway in Jubilee Gardens with the engine still running.
Police said the two incidents were not connected.
The country’s murder count is 84 for the year.
