Empowering fearless & fortified women

The women of Evangelistic Temple are gearing up to host their 18th Annual Women After the Heart of God Conference, which they promise will change people’s perspectives on life, and challenge them to appreciate what God has already ordained for them.

Tapped to speak at this year’s conference, which will be held November 13-16 under the theme “Fortified & Fearless”, are Dr. Wendy Cash, Pastor Margo Victor, Reverend Carla Culmer and Reverend Lavette McFall.

Cash will speak on the topic “Establish Your Ground – It’s Fighting Time” on Wednesday. “Stand Still, Be Fearless – You Are Fortified” will be addressed by McFall on Thursday. Victor will speak to “War with Worship – You Will Triumph in Battle” on Friday, with Culmer closing out the speakers as she tackles the topic “The Enemy is Amushed – Rejoice and Take the Spoils” on Saturday. All sessions will be held at the Evangelistic Temple on Collins Avenue.

Evangelistic Temple’s Women’s Ministry president, Minister Vernita Lopez, describes the guest speakers as spirit-filled and spirit-led women of God who are gifted and able to speak to the nature of the battle, making use of the tools God has provided for His people so that they can stand firm and be successful.

“Today, spiritual warfare is intensifying [and] we are seeing an unprecedented amount of unrest, wars, sickness and disease, feelings of anxiousness, and fear [and] hopelessness. People everywhere are searching for answers,” said Lopez. “In 2 Chronicles 20:1-29, King Jehoshaphat received devastating news – he and his people were surrounded by an insurmountable enemy – in the natural, it was a hopeless situation. He, however, quickly realized that God had already provided everything that he needed to be victorious. So, he placed his faith and trust in the only one who could bring about deliverance – God. King Jehoshaphat stood firm, then led his people to use the strategies of spiritual warfare, and God delivered them. When we find ourselves surrounded by attacks from the enemy, or in situations where we are hopeless and [in] despair, God is still well able to deliver us. This ‘Fortified & Fearless’ Conference promises to be an unveiling of the strategies we need to stand firm, fight, and place the enemy exactly where he belongs,” she said.

Women from all walks of life and denominations are invited to participate in the conference to be empowered, to be fortified and to be fearless.

And knowing that many women are busy and have to think about their families, Lopez said the Women’s Ministry will offer free infant and childcare services for children up to age nine to allow mothers to feel at ease knowing their children are safe while they’re being empowered.

“There is no excuse for any woman to miss out on this life-changing event,” said Lopez.

All conference sessions are also free, with the exception of a prayer breakfast that will conclude the conference for which the donation is $5 per person.
