Father accused of sexually assaulting his two daughters for years

A father has appeared in court accused with sexually assaulting his teenage daughters.

The man, whose identity cannot be revealed, is accused of sexually assaulting his daughters, who are now adults, for years.

The 43-year-old man of New Providence faced nine counts of incest when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt on Friday.

His uncle, who is a pastor, supported him in court.

Prosecutors say the man began abusing one of his daughters in January 2016 when she was 14.

The sexual molestation allegedly continued until December 2018. That alleged victim is now 18.

He allegedly began abusing his then-17-year-old daughter in February 2015. The illegal sexual contact allegedly continued until July 2020.

The man, who is represented by Glendon Rolle, did not have to enter pleas to the charges at his initial court appearance.

He was remanded to prison until April 20 when prosecutors are expected to fast-track his case to the Supreme Court by presenting a voluntary bill of indictment.
