The government is looking to open commercial travel on or before July 1, Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis announced during a national address on Sunday.
He said the date is not final and will be adjusted if there is a deterioration of COVID-19 trends.
“Our opening will depend on your cooperation,” he said.
“Our resorts, our airports and our seaports are finalizing the health and safety protocols 10 that will be necessary for us to provide for a re-opening.”
The prime minister also announced that Cat Island, Long Island, Abaco and Andros will be able to resume commercial activity as of tomorrow.
However, he said weekday curfew and weekend lockdown measures still remain in place.
He said the physical distancing measures are to be followed. Additionally, Minnis said people are still to wear masks when outside.”
