Guardian, Star FM launch ’21 Days of Christmas’

More than $15,000 in prizes to be won

With Thanksgiving out of the way, it is officially the most wonderful time of the year. The Nassau Guardian and Star 106 Hits, along with our sponsors, are looking to make the yuletide season even more grand as we kick off an amazing “21 Days of Christmas” promotion, featuring prizes that are sure to bring some holiday cheer.

Beginning today, we will randomly pull names out of our “Santa sack” to dole out these fantastic prizes in this season of goodwill. Participation is open to residents throughout the islands of The Bahamas. To get your name into the goodie sack, simply fill in and clip out the entry form printed in The Nassau Guardian, drop it into the “Santa sack” at the Carter Street, Oakes Field location, and then listen to Star 106 Hits to hear your name called as a winner. Alternatively, you can enter online via or; winners from these websites will be announced live on Star 106 Hits.

Nassau Guardian Lifestyles Editor Shavaughn Moss, who came up with the idea for a Christmas giveaway several years ago, said she was delighted that the promotion has returned for another year.

After teaming up with Star 106.5 FM, Moss reached out to her contacts to curate the gifts for the promotion.

“The first year it was just a way for The Guardian to give back to its readers,” she said.

“It was a lot of fun, but the promotion fell to the wayside. After the pandemic in 2021, people were hurting and we wanted to bring a bit of joy in tough times. We curated gifts that were both practical and luxurious.

“So, during the pandemic, this was our way to give back to the readers of The Nassau Guardian and listeners of Star 106.5 FM.

“Last year, we gave away 31 prizes over 21 days with a value of more than $10,000. We had such an amazing time last year, I said let’s do it again.

“I reached out to our amazing corporate sponsors and people were happy to donate. This year, we are giving away more than $15,000 in gifts. We’ve outdone ourselves this time around.”

The winners will be announced live on morning radio show, Good Mornin’ Dis Morning on Star 106.5 Hits, which airs between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on weekdays.
