An American tourist who exposed himself to a housekeeper at the Grand Hyatt hotel has been granted an absolute discharge.
Matthew Brown, 32, of Kings Drive, North Carolina, pleaded guilty to vagrancy when he appeared before Magistrate Jeanine Weech-Gomez yesterday.
The victim was in Brown’s room on January 5 when he exposed his privates and started playing with himself, the court heard.
The woman made a complaint to the police and Brown was arrested and charged.
Attorney Lisa Bostwick asked the court not to record a conviction because it would affect his job.
Brown was in the country on an eight-day vacation with his girlfriend, Bostwick said.
Bostwick said Brown was embarrassed about his actions and said that heavy drinking explained his lapse in judgment.
The magistrate ordered Brown to write a letter of apology to his victim.
