A Haitian man accused of fraudulently obtaining multiple documents since 2003 was yesterday denied bail.
The man, whose identity is unknown, held documents in the name of Wenson Philord, court papers allege.
Prosecutors said that he fraudulently obtained a certificate of permanent residence on January 17, 2003; a certificate of naturalization on July 15, 2009; an NIB card on August 2015; a Bahamian passport on March 14, 2017, and a driver’s license on April 5.
The man denied the charges of fraud by false pretenses with the assistance of a Haitian Creole interpreter at his arraignment before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis.
He returns to court on January 28 for trial and is represented by Philip Hilton.
