A Haitian man attempting to go to Abaco was arrested at Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) for overstaying his time in The Bahamas, immigration officials reported on Saturday.
They also said that a Haitian woman coming from Freeport was arrested at LPIA for overstaying.
Officials said two Haitian women and one Haitian man were apprehended in Freeport.
Five Haitian men and two Haitian women were apprehended in Abaco, according to the Department of Immigration.
The department reported that 24 foreigners, including 17 Haitians, were repatriated on Saturday.
According to the department, 11 males and six females were deported to Haiti via Citadel Charters.
It also reported that two Haitian boys were transferred from the department’s “safe house” to the Children’s Emergency hostel after their mother was convicted in court of illegal landing and sent to prison for two months.
In its statement on Saturday, the department also said six Indian males and one Sierra Leonean male were deported through Cuba on Bahamasair.
