The Bahamas’ first traffic fatality for 2020 has been recorded following an accident on Abaco which left one man dead and another hospitalized, police reported yesterday.
Police said two men were driving on Ernest Dean Highway in a Jeep Wrangler on Monday shortly before 3 p.m. when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which then overturned.
The men were taken to a clinic in Marsh Harbour with serious injuries, where one of the men died, according to police.
The second man was later airlifted to New Providence for further medical attention, where his condition remains unknown.
The deceased has been identified by the Bahamas Immigration Department as Chief Immigration Officer Bradley McDonald.
In a press release, the department extended condolences to McDonald’s family members, friends and colleagues.
